Our Wednesday

Thank you everyone for the prayers! We are glad to be home and everyone is resting and recovering. Aden somehow managed to get tangled up in the mini blind cord and was hanging, unconscious and not breathing. When Stephen went to cut the cord he fell into the window and went through it with his left arm. He was able to get Aden into the dining room and while I was on the phone with the 911 dispatcher he was giving Aden CPR. He finally started breathing again and that's when I realized that it was Stephen that was bleeding. Aden and I went in the ambulance to the ER while Stephen stayed with Asher and Ashton waiting on his parents to arrive. Somehow during all this Asher was able to remain calm and follow every instruction we gave him. He was such a great big brother and we have told him over and over again how awesome he was and how glad we are that he knew something was wrong and was able to tell Daddy right away. We think it was only a matter of 1-2 minutes that Aden wasn't breathing. The paramedics told me that all his vitals were fine and there shouldn't be anything major wrong. I'm so glad they were right. All the Xray results were good and they just told me that I should watch for swelling around his neck, but most likely we wouldn't see anything. Just follow up in a week with Dr. Stephen ended up waiting and waiting, then finally was able to see someone. He has about 25 staples on the inside bicep on his left arm. He says that he's ok and is on an antibiotic and pain killer. This all happened at around 1pm and we were back home by 5pm, just in time for dinner.
I hope that everyone has done a once over at their homes to make sure they don't have anything like this happen to their children or grandchildren. I never in a million years would have thought that my kids would hurt themselves like this. Stephen already went through the house taking care of all those blind cords. I hope that we never have to experience anything this horrific ever again. I appreciate all the offers to help out with the boys, meals or just "whatever", it really means a lot to both Stephen and I. Much, much love to you all!!
