Dallas News Story

Our story about Aden's accident with the window blinds was featured again in the Dallas Morning News' Metro Section. The reporter who wrote the original story called us on Thursday and asked if he could do a follow up story about Aden. On Wednesday there was a recall of 5.5 Million roll-up and Roman shades. We are so glad to be able to help spread the word. Below is the link to the article.

The Sound of Music

I watched the movie today with the boys. They loved it and Asher said he remembered watching it before. Ashton would just giggle and stare at me as I sang along with all the songs. While I was cooking dinner I hear Aden singing Do-Re-Mi and he's playing along perfectly on his guitar! Normally I see Asher doing these sort of things so I was feeling very proud when I was watching Aden. He's such a sweetie pie!

Swimming

My mom came over and we swam with the boys. It was a lot of fun and the boys were super excited to have Bo swim with them. She was a glutton for punishment though and kept refilling the water guns for them as long as they wouldn't spray her. It made me laugh!!

Ashton was getting sleepy and finally dozed off.....I had mom run in and get the camera!

Asher and Aden were trying to show off their tattoos. Asher had a Dragon and Aden's is a Chinese character for Courage. Aden had originally decided on Mickey Mouse then saw this one and wanted to be like his Daddy!!

After the Rain....

Our spa cover is now permanently sunken in since we had so much rain collect on the top. Stephen was using a shovel to push the water off the top and the boys took that opportunity to play in the water. They were screaming and having a great time while Stephen sprayed them with all that water!

Ashton's 1 Year Checkup

We changed to another doctor and are thrilled with their office. What a change from the last doctor we visited. I hate that our pediatrician doesn't take our insurance, but we've been able to find a new one for now. I am most likely going to change back whenever our insurance changes. Anyway, for now we are happy. Ashton is growing like crazy! He's 22 pounds now and 30 inches. He is so much bigger than his brothers were at this age, for sure. We took him off the bottle 3 weeks ago and it was a breeze. Ashton had already been using a sippy cup for a few months to have watered down juice or just water. Ashton stopped using his pacifier at about 6 months too....so Mommy is happy! Right around that same time he decided that he didn't want to eat mushy baby food anymore as well. So, now at 1 he is already eating a whole PB&J sandwich and can eat a whole grilled cheese sandwich. It's amazing how much this boy will eat! He loves chicken and beef and all his green veggies. He's trying to talk a lot more too. Of course he can say the standard Mommy, Daddy, etc. but he will point to things and say "THAT" which totally cracks me up! I've been trying to get him to say Juice, but when I ask him if he wants juice he will get his cup and bring it to me. He's a hoot. Aden taught Ashton to say his name, lots of repitition, nothing like listening to "Aden, Aden, Aden, Aden" over and over again. Very sweet though. Ashton is walking all over the place but still crawls to get to things faster. He was walking just before he turned 11 months, without assistance. Now he's walking about 85% of the time. This first year has gone by quickly.....but it's so awesome to see my three boys playing and interacting together. I'm loving every minute of it!!!

Happy 17th Birthday Sheila

I can not believe that my sister Sheila is 17 years old today. She's about to be a senior in high school then off to college. Crazy how grown up she is now. Wish we could have been there to celebrate with the family. We hope to make a trip out to Vegas sometime soon though.
